To say 2018 was a big year is a bit of an understatement, I can truly say that this year has been one the best years I’ve had in a very long time.
It has had a few lows but nothing I can truly remember or care about anymore, this year has mostly been high points. If 2019 comes anywhere close to being like this year I’ll be a very happy girl!
So here are my favourite memories of 2018!
10. Our First Family Holiday
Something I never thought we’d get to do so soon is a family holiday! Turkey was great, as a family, we experienced so much and made some great memories together.
I got over my fear of heights, We all had our first ride in a hot air balloon, we went jet skiing and saw some beautiful sites around Antalya which included going up a mountain. How many kids can say they did all that at 8 months old?
And to top it off we met some great families too which really made our holiday a good one to remember!
9. Haggerston
At the time I hated being there most days as I did experience a bit of cabin fever! However looking back it was fun!
I had a catch up with an old school friend, met some new people, Logan learnt how to crawl! He also visited the beach for the first time which he loved.
As a family, we kind of got the feel of how it would be like to live together on our own too, which was nice.
Also, Northumberland is a beautiful place. Shame the local beach was infested with spiders!
8. Yorkshire Wildlife Park!
We went and had a day out in Doncaster and visited Yorkshire Wildlife Park with Izzy. This is the park I used to go horse riding at before it got made into a zoo! So it was so nice to see how much it’s developed from being a little farm. It brought so many childhood memories back and spending time with one of my best friends of 10 years that I rarely get to see was the best. Especially on one of the hottest days in summer!
Logan slept quite a lot that day but for the animals, he did get to see he loved it, the meerkats seemed to get his attention the most.
7. Getting a tattoo
Only a small memory and only a small tattoo too! But its something I’ve wanted to be done for ages and it finally happened. I have plans to get a few more!
6. My 21st Birthday
I turned 21 this year and unlike previous years, where I wouldn’t do anything, I actually celebrated it exactly how I wanted. After all the stress that no one would turn up, it did go to plan! I celebrated my 21st with the people that mattered and I had the best time.
5. Attending a wedding for the first time!
I’ve never ever been to a wedding before and this year I finally got to experience someone’s special day and it was so lovely. I also think this was the first proper family outing with Logan too as he was only 2 months old.
4. A first proper night out
I’ve had plenty of nights out since turning 18, but in a small seaside town, it’s not really a ‘night out’ like it is in a city. I had my first night out in Leeds and the difference is huge and definitely better.
3. Getting keys to our first family home
Most recent one to happen and what a great ending to the year! We’ve finally got our own little place, it needs a bit of work but that will all come in time and fall into place eventually. It’s just so nice to have the keys and a place to call our own. I can’t wait to make memories in our new house have a fresh start, as this is a new place where no one knows us.
2. Creating this blog
I’ve said this a lot over the months but blogging is something I’ve wanted to do for years, but I always put it off for not having an interesting life. I also hated the idea as at one point in time I really cared about others opinions on me. But since having Logan, he gave me a reason to write and gave me that confidence to just do it. I’m so glad I did!
I really didn’t expect this blog to get anywhere, especially in such a short amount of time. I have some lovely followers who I talk to regularly and had some great opportunities come out of this. I really can’t wait to see what 2019 brings as I watch my blog grow bigger and bigger.
1. Logan
The obvious one, right at the beginning of the year, I gave birth to my gorgeous little boy. He has completely changed my life, as cringe as that may sound but he really has. It’s amazing how much joy a baby can bring into your life, even in the hard times.
So to sum up 2018, I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone , tried new things, made a few changes all for the better. I’m proud of what I’ve done this year and I hope to have a brilliant 2019!
What are your favourite memories from 2018? What are you looking forward to in 2019?
Your little boy is so beautiful! Congrats on your many accomplishments!
