I had a great 2018, the second month into the year I gave birth to my son and over the past 11 months, I’ve been watching him grow. I also started this blog!
The year was filled with so many positives and great memories and obviously the odd low which as a family I think we’ve learned and grown from. Of course the positives weight out the bad! Which I’ll be sharing with you in this blog.

Top 7 posts of 2018
Letter To Logan – I loved writing this post as everything to do with my feelings on motherhood came out. It’s a personal and special post to me and I hope that Logan will actually read it one day.
Mcdonalds Saved My Relationship – One of my most rememberable posts, it’s a funny one and a nice look back on how mine and Jonny’s relationship has developed over time.
Type of Mums You Find On Facebook Groups – One of my funnier light-hearted posts that most mums that use social media can relate too.
How I survived 6 Months Of Breastfeeding – A post I’m so so proud of, getting to 6 months was such an achievement. Breastfeeding in the early stages were so hard for me, I didn’t think I’d make it through the first-week nevermind six months. I stuck to it and here I am 11 months on still feeding and still giving advice to any mama and mama to be who needs it.
A-Z guide To Giving Birth -I’m proud of this post as I’d never seen anyone do this before. It was super fun to get creative and think of a word relating to labour for each letter.
Our Adventure In Turkey – So proud of this post as Turkey was our first ever holiday as a family. Not many babies can say they went up a mountain at 8 months old. We all experienced a lot we never expected to experience. It was a holiday of firsts, we met some lovely families who we’ve stayed in touch with and it’s by far one my favourite memories and posts of the year as I just love to look back on our adventure.
10 Months Old Letter To Santa – One of my most recent blog posts, I loved writing this post as not only does it shows my sons personality, a lot of parents can relate to it. This was one of my posts that got most shares, so it was lovely to see how many readers enjoyed it.
7 Things I loved most about 2018
Such an obvious one but Logan made my year and life so much better. At the time of being induced we had no clue if we’d be meeting a boy or girl, after 9-hour labour hearing ‘he has huge balls, oh by the way we have a son’ was both magical and hilarious.
I loved labour, didn’t quite enjoy my ‘waters’ been broken but the rest was fine. I 100% can’t wait to experience it all again… Minus the awful crochet looking hook.
Starting a blog
Super cringe I know but I’m so happy I started this blog. I wanted to blog for ages but never thought my life was interesting enough and of course Logan came into my life and gave me a reason to write. Blogging is now an important part of my life, I love the online friendships I’ve gained out of the lovely blogging community I’m also super proud of the opportunities I’ve had too to say it’s only my first year of blogging!
Our first family holiday
Already mentioned this above but this was one of my favourite memories as a family. We did so many firsts together, we did water sports, went up a mountain, went in a hot air balloon, learnt about Turkish history and I got over my fear of heights!
My 21st Birthday
I finally got a birthday party! Every year I wanted to do something to celebrate my birthday and I finally got to celebrate my 21st how I wanted. I had everyone important celebrate with me and it was just one of my favourite memories from summer.
This place had hell of a lot of negatives but the good days were great days. The days out I had on Jonny’s days off was always fun or eventful. It took us over 4 hours to find the beach and when we got there we got attacked by spiders and had a hell of a walk back through a boggy field and having to wait for sheep to move. I mean it got us prepared for countryside life that’s for sure!
Logan also made his first ever friend on this getaway!
Not my wedding (I’m not married, come on Jonny crack on!) but a close family friend who I’ve grown up with. It was lovely to see her special day. The venue also inspired me and Jonny to move to the area, on the day we just took it all in and went ‘Yeah, wouldn’t mind living here, not bad is it?’
Our first house
Following on from the last memory that dream soon became a reality. We have moved to the area we fell in love with! We have our first family home! It’s all happened quickly but it’s so nice to have our own place together as a family. We have a lot to do to get the house finished to how we want it but to say we got the keys Christmas time we’ve finished 2 rooms. It feels super cosy compared to when we first received the keys. It’ll take a while to get how we want it, but for now, its perfectly imperfect and the area couldn’t be better. Even if it is in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by fields.
7 Things I’m looking forward to in 2019
First priority is to get the house finished to how we want it. It shouldn’t take too long to finish luckily but we’re taking our time to do it now we’re fully moved in.
Meeting my New Baby
In a few months time, I’m due to give birth! I feel like this pregnancy is dragging but in reality, it’s not. We haven’t got that many months left to get things ready for the new arrival. I’m so excited to see if we have another boy or welcome our first girl into the world. I also can’t wait to see what Logan will be like with his little brother or sister.
I’m incredibly lucky to have these tickets as they sold out everywhere so fast but I was so determined to find some so I could treat Jonny to seeing his idol for his 21st! We both love George and It’ll be some nice couple time together as we don’t get it a lot anymore.
Learning to drive
One of us needs to learn, as where we live now a car is desperately needed. It also gives us so much more freedom too. Realistically Jonny will pass first but it doesn’t matter who or how it happens its a goal for both of us this year.
It’s not set in stone but we’re planning another family holiday this year but as a family of 4 this time! We’re looking at a Eurocamp holiday and all-inclusive resort options but we may stay in the UK and have a holiday here depending on money.
Logan’s 1st Birthday
It’s Logans 1st birthday next month which is super exciting but so scary. How the hell do I have a soon to be one year old already! We have a plan to take him to the local aquarium and have a tea party at the house after and link it as a home warming party.
We’ve had our first Christmas as a family but it wasn’t in our own home I this year will be exciting to do it all in our own place, with two excited babies! Logan will actually have more of an understanding on Christmas this year too whereas the new baby will only be 6 months old.
There we go my top 7 complete, I now tag the following 7 people to take part. (if you’ve not been tagged still feel free to take part! )
